Prachi Vasavda (BCom ‘13) Bags Eight Gold Medals at LLB Convocation
Ahmedabad Alumna Prachi Vasavda, BCom (Hons) with Major in Accounting, Class of 2013, Amrut Mody School of Management, had clinched a gold medal in her graduating year having pursued the programme on a merit-cum-needs-based scholarship. In 2020, she repeated her golden feat adding a multiplier effect. Prachi topped her batch in the LLB course at Gujarat University in 2020 wearing a phenomenal eight gold medals around her neck.
At the convocation ceremony of Gujarat University held in March 2021, Prachi bagged the late Advocate Shyam Harilal Bhatt Medal, the Kusumbahen Manilal Shah Medal for Civil Procedure Code, the Kusumbahen Manilal Shah Medal for Criminal Procedure Code, the Shri Rajendra Prasad Harilal Bhatt Memorial Medal, the Shri Govindlal Damodardas Shah Medal, the late Justice Shri N C Memorial Medal, the late Shri Dhurandhar Dinkarrai Medh Memorial Medal and the Shri Indrawadan Chhaganlal Jetly Medal.
The only child of her family, Prachi studied BCom (Hons) at Ahmedabad University and went on to complete her Company Secretary programme at The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Post that, she joined Arvind SmartSpaces, the real estate arm of the Lalbhai Group, as an Assistant Company Secretary.
Talking about her academic life, Prachi shares “My education at Ahmedabad University was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The scholarship enabled me to fund my undergraduate studies without burdening my father. It provided me with the best education and was a win-win situation for my father and me.”
Her post-LLB plans include continuing her current job besides pitching in at A P Shah & Associates, a firm specialising in intellectual property rights founded by her husband and law course batchmate, Aagam Shah.
However, Prachi is not all work and no play. She has decided to revisit her hobbies of music, travelling and painting. “I am planning to take up the brush again as I have not been able to paint for the last few years due to my commitments,” she says. Plans are also on the anvil for growing the couple’s own travelling firm named Oneend Solutions..
With the proverbial Midas touch, this Ahmedabad Alumna certainly seems on her way to success.
