Service-Oriented Architecture for Spatial Data Integration and Reasoning
A workshop on ‘Service-Oriented Architecture for Spatial Data Integration and Reasoning’ was organized by the National Spatial Data Infrastructure, Government of India. The event was held at the School of Engineering and Applied Science on November 15-17, 2017. The objective of the workshop was to discuss and share the knowledge of technology, tools and practices to the scientists for developing intelligent and expert applications using spatial data. Twenty five scientists from National Spatial Data Infrastructure, Department of Science and Technology, Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Geological Survey of India, National Remote Sensing Centre, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi, India Meteorological Department, Odisha Space Applications Centre (ORSAC), Forest Survey of India, State level Councils of Science and Technology etc. had participated in the workshop. The three-day workshop covered topics like Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Analytics, Service Oriented Architecture, W3C and OGC Standards, Designing and development of RESTful services, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning using Ontology, Image Processing and Machine Learning, and Development of Mobile Applications was conducted.
