In this talk, I will present some computational aspects of q-series in the theory of partitions through some recent results. In particular, I will present generating function proofs of some newly discovered partition identities and elementary proofs of some well-known q-hypergeometric series-product formulae. I will also provide a few other applications of q-series.
Aritram Dhar has a PhD from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida, USA, where he was supervised by Professor Alexander Berkovich. He works broadly in Number Theory and Enumerative Combinatorics. In particular, he works on problems in the theory of partitions, q-series, bijective combinatorics, q-hypergeometric series, modular forms, Ramanujan’s mathematics, and special functions. He is now going to the Chern Institute of Mathematics, Nankai University, Tianjin, China, as a postdoctoral scholar, where he will work with Professor William Y. C. Chen.
