Environmental challenges such as water scarcity, global warming, pollution, biodiversity loss, desertification, marine pollution and acidification, ozone depletion and unsustainable urban growth are increasingly affecting ecosystems and human well-being. Addressing these concerns requires not only technological and policy interventions but also changes in individual behaviour and collective action. The talk will explore these major environmental concerns and highlight the importance of responsible lifestyle choices in building a sustainable future.
Mission Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) provides a people-centric approach that encourages citizens to become “Pro-Planet People” and adopt environmentally responsible practices in everyday life. The session will discuss practical LiFE actions across areas such as saving energy and water, reducing plastic use, adopting sustainable food systems, reducing and managing waste, adopting healthy and nature-friendly lifestyles, and responsible management of ewaste. The talk will emphasise how small individual actions, when adopted collectively, can contribute meaningfully to environmental protection and help transform environmental awareness into sustained action.
