Heritage today is at the centre of all the disciplines, be it social sciences, humanities, or pure sciences. Heritage is no more just a soft power with which we engage with the world outside to showcase our cultural and civilisational strength. Today, it is at the heart of all our developmental policies, climate change mitigation, poverty alleviation, social justice, urban and rural planning and sustainable development. Creative Industries, Tourism and Hospitality sector, Development of Heritage cities and Pilgrimage towns, fashion houses to green technologies, Education as advocated in NEP are in need of professionally developed heritage cadre for content creation, innovative design solutions to environmentally friendly and sustainable planning and project execution. Our Cultural Institutions and various administrative wings of the Government are looking towards abled Heritage Managers to head heritage departments. Culturally aware and professionally trained young cadre in the heritage sector has an important role to play in the building of the Nation and Sustainable Futures in Resurgent Bharat, and that looks at its cultural legacy as a guide for a better tomorrow.
