My research interest lies in understanding the pathogen survival mechanism inside a host cell. Pathogenic bacteria can survive inside a Pathogen Containing Vacuole [PCV] in the host. Many host cellular cytoskeleton proteins help to maintain the integrity of PCV. I am focusing on understanding how bacteria hijack host cytoskeleton proteins to create a replicative niche within the host cell using biomimetic models. In addition, my interest lies in deciphering the role of the cytoskeleton in maintaining membrane tension in PCV.
