Ectotherms (or cold-blooded animals) rely on their immediate environment to regulate their body temperatures. The chief mechanism employed by ectotherms is behavioural thermoregulation. I study this phenomenon, with a special emphasis on nocturnal thermoregulation, in a large ectotherm, the Mugger Crocodile, across varying environmental conditions. I am also building a statistical model that will predict behavioural thermoregulatory tendencies of the organism across different environmental conditions.
