The Studio Neighbourhoods defines and conceptualises the idea of the neighbourhood and the evolution of its cultural and social characteristics allowing students to visualise the same using different thematic maps. Analysis of demographic features, livelihood profiles, governance structures, and flow of services enables students to appreciate the modern neighbourhoods. The Studio is designed to evaluate the biological richness of a neighbourhood through the domain of biodiversity.

Neighbourhoods Studio anchors hands-on learning activities in the contexts of a few local neighbourhoodsengaging students in surveying and documenting data on the above themesandgetting a broader perspective of the environment, behaviour, and development associated with the neighbourhoods. Through this Studio, students explore the human neighbourhood and its ecosystems as spatial as well as social entities which can be expressed in a number of data sets.
