Every undergraduate student at Ahmedabad takes a course in Performing and Visual Arts. Arts and aesthetics are important for building deep perspectives on life, culture and civilisation. Students have options to engage with performing arts, visual arts, design, and heritage studies.

Ahmedabad has a rich history of architecture, dance, theatre, design, music and films. It has strong centres of dance and theatre (the Kadamb and Darpana academies) and music (Saptak School of Music and its annual music festival). The University is close proximity to well know art galleries like the Kanoria Arts Centre, Doshi-Hussain Gufa and museums like the LD Museum, the Karturbhai Lalbhai and Calico musems.

The Center for Heritage Management at the University is a unique place to engage with action research and activities that promote tangible and intangible heritage. Learn more.

If you have a keen eye for aesthetics then you may even want to become part of the Photography Club on the campus. The club organises many  trips to places in the city and around and you can learn or hone your photographic skills.

We often host an Artist in Residence who performs or carries out her work in public view. Do participate in these performances of viewings and workshops.
