BA (Hons) Student Wins Silver at Senior Women’s Artistic Gymnastics National Championships

Diya Thankore, BA (Hons) Class of 2029 student, recently secured the silver medal in the Uneven Bars event at the prestigious Senior Women’s Artistic Gymnastics National Championships held in Odisha. Competing in a highly competitive arena that featured over 150 top-tier gymnasts representing 24 states across the country, Diya’s stellar performance stood out.

With this national achievement, she has officially qualified for the upcoming National Games, scheduled for February 2027.

Diya’s national victory builds upon a season of exceptional performances. Earlier this year, on February 9, 2026, she dominated the state circuit, winning the gold medal in the Uneven Bars event at the Khel Mahakumbh State Championships in Rajpipla.

In addition to her competitive athletic triumphs, Diya is also making waves on the international administrative stage. She successfully completed the rigorous International Judging Course, earning the highest score in Gujarat. With this certification, Diya qualifies as a Level 4 International Judge, making her one of the youngest international judges from India in the history of artistic gymnastics.

The Ahmedabad University community congratulates Diya on her achievements and wishes her the best for the National Games in 2027.
