Should Foreign Intervention be Allowed in Sovereign States?

Should Foreign Intervention be Allowed in Sovereign States?

For this week’s session, the Society proposes a structured debate on the motion: “Should foreign intervention be allowed in sovereign states?” The motion invites participants to critically examine the ethical, political, and legal dimensions of foreign intervention in international affairs. While intervention is often justified on humanitarian grounds or concerns of global security, it simultaneously raises serious questions about national sovereignty, self-determination, and long-term political consequences. The topic encourages students to grapple with real-world dilemmas central to international relations and global governance.
