Indian Short Films

Indian Short Films | Film Appreciation Club

The second event of the Film Appreciation Club, titled “Indian Short Films”, is a curated showcase of short films, each in a distinct language, while also portraying the artistic and emotional power of cinema. The movies showcased are as follows: Urvarit (2023) by Yogesh Rajguru, which explores themes of grief, resilience, and strength. The Tainted Mirror (Motsillaba Mingsel) (2021) by Romi Meitei explores themes of childhood innocence, moral awareness, and the impact of consumerism on values and health. Ri (2023) by Stanzin Idzes explores childlike wonder and nostalgic memories. Between screenings, participants will engage in discussions that last 15-20 minutes, providing valuable insights into the movies. The final discussion will be longer, incorporating all the movies and the underlying common themes that will bring the event together.

Through collective viewing and dialogue, the event aims to foster greater awareness, empathy, and nuanced understanding of how short cinema can reflect the realities of our everyday lives.
