Physical and mental wellbeing is central to holistic development at Ahmedabad University. The Wellness Centre at the Office of Dean of Students has been at the forefront of this initiative, with Blood Donation and Thalassemia screening camps being regular features. Both these events are done in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society.
For its substantial contribution to reinforcing the importance of community engagement in the years 2023 and 2024, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel felicitated Ahmedabad University. Vaibhav Kadia, Assistant Professor and Associate Dean (Student Engagement) received the award on the University's behalf.
"It has been our constant endeavour not only to promote but actively engage in the vital mission of blood donation, proving unwavering commitment to saving lives. We have received support from the student and staff community year after year, showing the University's strong belief in social responsibility and humanitarian values. The Indian Red Cross Society has consistently responded to this gesture by assisting the University community," said Professor Kadia on receiving the honour.
