5th Annual Economics Conference
Established in 2009, Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit research university that offers students a liberal education focused on interdisciplinary learning and research thinking.
The Annual Economics Conference by Amrut Mody School of Management of Ahmedabad University offers a global forum for dissemination of modern research in all areas of Economics and Finance.
The 2024 Annual Economics Conference will be held on-site at the Central Campus of Ahmedabad University.
A Best Paper Prize will be awarded to one of the presented papers.

Last Date of Submission: October 31, 2023
Please submit a full paper or an extended abstract as an attachment in the below-mentioned link. Short abstracts will not be entertained. If submitting an extended abstract, it should be between 700-1000 words containing research objectives, data and methodology and key findings.

Invitation to students interested in Economics to attend and participate in the 5th Annual Economics Conference at Ahmedabad University
- Students selected from colleges/universities across the country are invited to attend the conference where reputed academicians and research scholars will present their current research work.
- Students will be given the opportunity to ask questions and interact with speakers at sessions and industry panels.
- Special Session on Introduction to Machine Learning in Economics
By Professor Sugat Chaturvedi, Amrut Mody School of Management, Ahmedabad University.
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on January 5, 2024
Students are invited to join a 2 hours course, 'Machine Learning in Economics', for a concise exploration of supervised and unsupervised learning, offering a glimpse into text analysis. This course will give a brief introduction to Machine Learning (ML) methods in Economics, describe some applications of ML, discuss fundamental concepts, and explore one application of text classification.
This event will be followed by a 30 minutes Information Session on Ahmedabad University graduate programmes.
Ahmedabad University offers a Master of Arts in Economics programme, which builds problem-solving skills in Data Sciences, Analytics and Technology with a research-based approach to education that is at the frontiers of Economics with deep engagement with industry. We also offer Master of Science in Quantitative Finance programme, which builds the mathematical and technological underpinnings of financial markets and economic decision-making within a managerial ecosystem.
All final year undergraduate students interested in pursuing masters in economics and/or quantitative finance are invited to participate in the 5th Annual Economics Conference.
Special Allowances for Undergraduate students
- There are no registration fees for students*.
- To and fro travel cost for students, equivalent to AC 3 tier, will be provided on a reimbursement basis by Ahmedabad University.
- Accommodation during the conference will be provided by Ahmedabad University.
*also waived for Masters students
Food to be provided by the University for all students (undergraduate and postgraduate) who attend the conference.
