Echoes of Poetry: An Evening of Recitation, Rhythm and Song

Echoes of Poetry: An Evening of Recitation, Rhythm and Song

In celebration of World Poetry Day 2026, the University Library, Literary Club, Heritage Club, and Music Club jointly organised a special Reading Circle evening dedicated to poetry, voice, and melody. This programme celebrates the beauty, diversity, and musicality of poetry across languages and cultures, bringing together voices that recite, sing, and share the timeless works of great poets.

Programme Details

  • Poetry Recitation by Renowned Poets (By Invitation) - Invited participants will recite poems by celebrated poets in 7–8 languages, showcasing diverse poetic traditions.
  • Poems as Songs (By Invitation) - A musical segment where poems by great poets are presented as songs.
  • Walk-in Poetry Recitation – Original Poems - Participants may recite their own poems in any language (walk-in or prior registration). Each participant will get 3 minutes. Content should be respectful and sensitive.

Objective: The event celebrates the diversity and beauty of poetry across languages. Due to limited time, participation may be limited, and organisers will prioritise linguistic diversity.
