The Centre is planned as a University-wide unit, drawing in ideas and perspectives from all the different Schools. The aim would be to energise curricular change and feed into ongoing research programmes across the University.

All three would be for a year, or two semesters. Additionally, PhD students and post-docs could seek affiliation with the Centre, and have a primary supervisor from one of the Schools.
Short-term courses; public events (talks, seminars, performances) in collaboration with neighbouring institutions.
Joint programmes will be organized in collaboration with institutions across the country.
The Centre will identify two or three potential institutional collaborators for each of four broadly-defined networks: India-China; Indian Ocean; SE Asia, and India-South Asia.
