Working with the University

The Centre is planned as a University-wide unit, drawing in ideas and perspectives from all the different Schools. The aim would be to energise curricular change and feed into ongoing research programmes across the University.

This will be done via

  1. Visiting Professorships;
  2. Research and Teaching Fellows;
  3. thematic working groups that cut across disciplines and schools.

All three would be for a year, or two semesters. Additionally, PhD students and post-docs could seek affiliation with the Centre, and have a primary supervisor from one of the Schools.

Working with the City

Short-term courses; public events (talks, seminars, performances) in collaboration with neighbouring institutions.

Working with Indian Institutions

Joint programmes will be organized in collaboration with institutions across the country.

Working with Asian collaborators

The Centre will identify two or three potential institutional collaborators for each of four broadly-defined networks: India-China; Indian Ocean; SE Asia, and India-South Asia.
