Best Oral Presentation Award for Ahmedabad University Student's CO2 Conversion Research
Ahmedabad University PhD student Akanksha Sharma has been recognised for her research on developing a sustainable solution to the anthropogenic carbon cycle, receiving the "Best Oral Presentation" award at the Third Chemical Catalysis Conference 2024, held at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar.
Her award-winning paper, "Electrochemical CO2 Conversion: From Industrial Emissions to Green Chemicals and Fuels," details her work on the electroreduction of CO2.
This process harnesses intermittent renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, to convert carbon dioxide into valuable chemical products. This innovative approach has the potential to transform excess renewable energy into life-saving fuels and feedstocks, offering a path towards a greener, more sustainable future. Currently, Aakanksha is conducting her research under the mentorship of Professor Aditi Singhal from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
