MBA Student Wins Gold at Gujarat State Kudo Tournament

Nishra Shah, MBA Class of 2027, recently added another achievement to her sporting journey by winning a Gold Medal at the 14th Gujarat State Kudo Tournament 2026–27.

Representing Ahmedabad district, Nishra secured First Place in the Female Above 21, Senior category at the state-level tournament, held at the Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium, Surat, in September 2026. The tournament was organised and conducted by the Gujarat Kudo Sports Association (GKA).

This achievement adds to Nishra’s experience in Kudo. She had earlier won a Bronze Medal at the 17th Akshay Kumar International KUDO Tournament, competing among more than 4,600 athletes from 32 states and union territories.

For Nishra, competitive sport has been an important part of her experience alongside academics. The encouragement of the University’s Director of Sports, Sonia Bathla, and her professors has supported her continued participation in sport.

Her latest win reflects the discipline and resilience that competitive sport demands, while adding to Ahmedabad University’s growing record of students pursuing sporting excellence alongside their academic journeys.
