Commonly, electronic devices contain circuitry consisting primarily or exclusively of active semiconductors supplemented with passive elements; such a circuit is described as an electronic circuit.
Today, most electronic devices use semiconductor components to perform electron control. The study of semiconductor devices and related technology is considered a branch of solid-state physics, whereas the design and construction of electronic circuits to solve practical problems come under electronics engineering. Interconnection technologies such as circuit boards, electronics packaging technology, and other varied forms of communication infrastructure complete circuit functionality and transform the mixed components into a regular working system.
Electronics LAB at IET is developed for Laboratory work activities for different subjects and also for R & D activities like basic electronics, embedded system design, mechatronics etc. The students will get exposure to basic hardware utilities like function generator, oscilloscopes and different power supplies while development kits such as Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, digital logic design boards and Xilinx FPGA kits. Using these resources students can develop different applications, hardware prototypes and Models for different areas of Analog and digital electronics.

Communication is an essential to modern society as electricity, providing both connectivity (cell phone, WiFi, Internet) and storage (hard drive, flash memory). The field of communications spans signals processing and error control coding for transceiver design, information theory to identify fundamental performance benchmarks for different systems, the design and analysis of different networking protocols. Signal processing, which refers to hardware and software to produce, transform and analyze signals (e.g., radio waves, sound, image, video, EEG, MRI), is a fundamental tool in every discipline in engineering and the sciences. Sophisticated digital signal processing algorithms, the cost of implementing which has been driven down leveraging Moore's law, are at the core of an ever increasing number of devices, including communications devices (cell phones, WiFi), digital music/video players, televisions, GPS receivers, radar and sonar systems, and medical imaging and monitoring.

Chemistry lab at IET has been designed for the first and second year Chemical Engineering students. This lab contains equipment such as Digital pH Meter, Conductivity Meter, Polarimeter, Potentiometer, Ultrasonicator, magnetic stirrer with hot-plate along with fume hoods for carrying out various synthesis processes. This is state of the art facility lab covering various aspects related to the different streams of chemistry such as physical, inorganic and organic. This lab has been specifically designed to give hands on experience on various concepts taught in the class so as to enhance students’ understanding of the subject. Specifically designed projects are given to the students related to the facilities available in the laboratory. Importantly, personal protective equipment (PPE) as well as other safety measures such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits have been installed and regularly inspected.
IET workshop comprises of cutting edge equipment for engineering curricula. It routinely caters to various requirements of manufacturing and assembly work demanded by the project based learning and teaching. The workshop houses tools related to metal removal, additive manufacturing and metrology. This includes machines tools such as lathe, milling, shaping, drilling, grinding and measurement tools such as surface plates. Advanced CNC machines that match the best in the manufacturing industry are also available. Modern tools such as 3-D printer and laser cutter support students in quickly prototyping their designs. The workshop resources are thus central to the teaching and learning activities that continually enable students to understand various equipment and utilize them to build projects.
Fluid Mechanics is one of the fundamental course for chemical and mechanical engineering students. The laboratory instruments are manufactured by GUNT Germany, reputed international company that complements the lecture course is vital to an effective presentation of the material. It is therefore prudent to provide meaningful experiments that stimulate student interest in the fluid mechanics laboratory. This lab provides knowledge of various flow patterns, flow measuring devices and pumps. Some of the major experiments are: Hydraulic Bench to determine volumetric flow rate , Bernoulli’s Principle, Osborne Reynolds Experiment, Horizontal outflow from openings, Pipe friction for laminar and Turbulent flow, Cavitation Demonstrator, Centrifugal Pump, Series/Parallel Connected Pumps, Measurement of jet apparatus.
