Reliable network performance is crucial in a large class of applications. Providing Quality of Service (QoS) in wireless networks poses unique challenges not present in wired networks. The importance of QoS in wireless networks has only increased in the recent past due to the rapid growth of Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical systems where the systems are desired to run on wireless networks. This talk will present an overview of research projects on providingm latency and reliability guarantees in wireless networks. One of the factors that make providing QoS in wireless networks challenging is interference. This talk will introduce a distributed throughput equalization algorithm that is based on analytical results on interference in CSMA networks. Lastly, it will present a polynomial time algorithm for determining feasibility of specified data rates in dense wireless networks.
