Ahmedabad University Partners with KUKA India Pvt Ltd. To Build Capacity in Robotics
The robotics industry is expected to reach $43.32 billion in revenue by 2027, according to Statista. In 2023 alone, it generated $37.37 billion. A report by McKinsey indicates that sectors such as logistics, automotive, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals are set to allocate over 25% of their capital to industrial automation within the next five years. This trend will see the creation of new jobs with different skill sets.
To address the growing needs of the industry and increasing exposure and training in robotics and automation, Ahmedabad University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science entered in a Memorandum of Understanding with KUKA India Pvt Ltd. to establish the Advanced Industrial Robotic Centre of Excellence at the varsity campus. The collaboration aims to enhance academic prowess, training, and industry-academia collaboration to benefit the students and faculty.
A leading supplier of intelligent robotics, plant, and systems engineering, KUKA India Pvt Ltd. will enhance academic and industrial robotics training and technical consultancy. They will provide robotics, simulation software, and related technical support, facilitating advanced training for the University's students and skilling for external persons. This facility will spur innovation and design using robotics and automation.
