Ahmedabad University Enters Into Solutions-Driven MoU With SEWA

A five-year MoU was signed between Ahmedabad University and the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA), a movement of self-employed women in rural and urban India and also the largest trade union in the country, to promote, design, and deliver solutions and perspectives for dealing with various issues faced by the latter.

This MoU allows for enhancing academic knowledge through R&D and practical expertise for addressing and solving problems and issues faced by various members of SEWA. It will also assist in building a framework to facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation between SEWA and Ahmedabad University for enhancing innovation, product development, transfer of technology, and skill upgradation necessary for solving current problems and planning for the future for SEWA members and associations. Ahmedabad University will collaborate on designing and developing products, accessories, and processes to enhance productivity, reduce drudgery, improve living standards, train and empower SEWA members, and generate field data for projects, case studies, and forecasting studies. The two parties will jointly develop learning materials for Ahmedabad University, enable University students to work at SEWA and its affiliates nationwide, and seek funding for project activities.
