Ahmedabad Doctoral Student Mahula Santra presents on Modelling and Simulation of Green Solvents and its Application in CO2 Utilisation at European Molecular Liquids Group (EMLG) and the Japanese Molecular Liquids Group (JMLG) 2023
Working in the domain of green solvents, Mahula Santra, a doctoral student of Chemical Engineering at Ahmedabad University, attended the European Molecular Liquids Group (EMLG) and the Japanese Molecular Liquids Group (JMLG) EMLG-JMLG 2023 Annual Meeting 2023 held in France.
It was a forum where researchers in academia, national laboratories, and industries gathered to share their current findings on the applications of ionic liquids. Two research articles from the group working at Ahmedabad University under the supervision of Professor Dharamashi Rabari and Professor Deepak Kunzru on modeling and simulation of green solvents and their application in CO2 utilisation, got special recognition, and a few collaborators have also shown interest in working with the team at Ahmedabad University.
Mahula stated, "I am extremely thankful to the research facility at our university, which has paved the way for successful research. Being able to attend the conference, discuss ideas, and learn from potential researchers in similar domains across the world was indeed a great opportunity to enhance my knowledge as a professional. This also helped me learn new approaches for the work I am focusing on. Moreover, it helped me get updated with the modern industry trends in the field of green chemistry. Another benefit of attending the conference was expanding the professional network, which is extremely essential for new collaborations or job findings at this early stage of research. With so many advantages, I felt the highly valued part of attending this event, where I could not only strengthen my learning as a research student but also as a professional for tomorrow.
Mahula is currently working on a thesis titled "Theoretical and experimental studies on CO2 cycloaddition to propylene oxide using solid supported deep eutectic solvents." at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Ahmedabad University.
