The project is commissioned by Railway Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) in July 2018. Currently, these four stations named as Sarkhej, Dholka, Loathl Burkhi and Dhandhudaka are going through a massive change as conversion of the gauge is taking place as well as the localities around these stations are also getting transformed. The Stations needed bigger station buildings which could house the upcoming demand. The challenge is to integrate heritage of these sites into new development as well as safeguarding the existing architectural heritage which currently exists in form of old station buildings. The centre is focusing on the solution of these challenges and also using this opportunity to document the surroundings.
