Professor Shobha Das has a PhD from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a BA (Honours) in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. She received the National Talent Search Scholarship for her higher secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies.
Professor Das worked as a management consultant at TCS after her PGDM. After completing her PhD, she worked at the Nanyang Business School, NTU Singapore (1994-2009), Qatar University (2009-2019), and IFMR Graduate School of Business, Krea University (2019-2014). Professor Das was the Dean of the IFMR Graduate School of Business, Krea University, from January 2020 to December 2021. She ensured a smooth transition to online (and later hybrid) classes, on-time graduation, and 100 per cent final placement and summer internship during the unprecedented two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professor Das pioneered the use of simulation in Strategic Management in Singapore, Qatar, and Krea University, India. Trained in the case method at the Harvard Business School (PCMPCL program), Professor Das has taught undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and executive courses. She has published research papers in renowned journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal. She regularly presents her research at international conferences.
