Professor Sabyasachi Das finished his PhD in Economics from Yale University. He has taught at the Indian Statistical Institute - Delhi, Ashoka University, and Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. Professor Das has also held a visiting scholar position at Northwestern University. He is an active member of the Society for Economic Research in India (https://seri.network).
Professor Das's research interests lie in topics related to political economy and public economics. He has examined how differences in outcomes and resource allocations across groups emerge from electoral processes and the impact of affirmative action in politics in shaping resource distribution across groups. Professor Das has undertaken projects examining how natural resource allocation, in the context of water and forest, is shaped by institutions and governance frameworks.
