Professor Jain's research interests include Industrial Organisation, Economics of Organisation, and Microeconomic Theory, particularly the application of microeconomic theory to studying firm behaviour. This includes analysing both firms' strategic responses to external market conditions and their internal organisational decision-making processes.
Professor Jain earned his PhD in Quantitative Economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, in 2025. He holds a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi, an MS in Computers and Systems Engineering from San Jose State University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Before his doctoral studies, Professor Jain worked in corporate strategy at Cairn Energy, consulting at The Boston Consulting Group, and software development at a start-up in California.
