Aranya Chakraborty earned his PhD in Economics from McGill University in 2023. He completed his MSc in Economics from the University of Calcutta and a BSc in Economics from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College (Autonomous), Narendrapur. Aranya's research interests lie in development economics, information economics, and applied microeconomics. He studies the adoption of risk management and mitigation practices in developing countries, focusing primarily on the role of networks, social learning, and learning from experience. His doctoral research investigated development policies for resolving information frictions and aiding economic agents in developing countries to learn about new technologies and products.
