Reducing Road Fatality Rates by Making Highways Intelligent |
|
The road system in India records high fatality rates, especially within highway ecosystems, necessitating intervention in transportation systems. Globally, experts agree that the solution lies in implementing the cellular vehicular-to-everything, or C-V2X technology, that can make cars intelligent by providing informative messages. Ahmedabad University Professor Dhaval Patel's research project, "Deployment of 6G Accelerated Smart Transportation with C-V2X on Ahmedabad-Rajkot Highway (NH47) Corridor," aims to design and deliver high-reliability, low-latency V2I communication, essential for ushering in intelligent transportation in India.

Fusing Emerging Technologies and Engineering to Detect Pipeline Failures |
The problem of detecting leaks in pipelines transporting liquid and gas resources, such as water, oil, and natural gas, has perplexed engineers worldwide. This problem is complicated further as each fluid behaves differently, making it impossible to apply a universal solution. To address this, an Ahmedabad University Professor is experimenting with acoustic emission (AE) sensors to detect pipeline leaks, fusing engineering and emerging technologies for signal processing and data analysis, providing more accurate and faster identification of leaks and faults.

Family businesses are deeply connected to cultural values and family traditions, which are instrumental in building the foundation of a successful business venture. To deconstruct their role, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Family Business Network (FBN) launched the Family Business Club in its first institutional collaboration with Ahmedabad University.

Dual Degree in Integrated Arts Programme at Ahmedabad University: A Blend of Creativity and Focused Learning |
|
The Chitra Sutra of the Vishnu Dharmottara Purana states that understanding painting (Chitra) requires knowledge of dancing (Nrtya), which, in turn, calls for knowledge of instrumental music (Vadya), which ultimately depends on a deep understanding of vocal music (Gana). This amalgam of art forms heightens one’s knowledge of a subject under study, preparing one’s sensibility for the new creative industry. The new Integrated Arts programme at Ahmedabad University is based on the vision of the interconnectedness of the arts, allowing students to blend creativity with focused learning.
