Research Interests: Cognitive processes, metacognition, emotion regulation, psychotherapy process and outcome, sexual and gender minorities, and mental health.
Professor Aarzoo Gupta completed her graduation and post-graduation in Psychology from Panjab University, Chandigarh. She trained in Clinical and Applied Hypnosis from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, and has an MPhil in Clinical Psychology (RCI-recognised) from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai. She pursued her PhD from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) (Deemed-to-be University), Patiala. In the course of her 17 years of cumulative experience in the academic and professional sectors, she has been associated with TIET; Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh; Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar; and National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Manesar; in varying roles. She has worked as an examiner for Wechsler Scales with Pearson Clinical Assessment, Product Development, Bengaluru, and as a researcher at NBRC. She has also worked with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, and the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, on projects involving youth wellness and telepsychiatry, respectively.

I have more nearly 30 presentations in National and International Conferences held in India. I won Best Paper Award at 11th IACAMH 17th-19th Nov 2011, ICCBI-India 6th-8th Mar 2017, NACIACP 6th-8th Mar 2021, and Best Poster KC Dube Award at 65th ANCIPS 10th-13th Jan 2013.
I have reviewed nearly 40 articles for two national Journals of Psychiatry.
I have worked in liaison with Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Juvenile cum Observation Home (JJH), High Court Mediation Centre, District State Legal Service Authority (DSLA), Model Jail Burail, Nari Niketan etc. I have experience of working Community Clinics, Awareness Camps for Alcohol and Drug de-addiction, and Camps for Intellectual Disability. I have served as Member of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Chandigarh Transgender Welfare Board, JJH Medical Board, Disability Board, DCPU Inspection Committee etc.
I have been Resource Person for >100 invited programs inclduing lectures / seminars/ workshops etc.
