Ahmedabad University will host, in collaboration with the Science Journalists Association of India (SJAI), the third edition of the annual SJAI Conference. The gathering will bring together journalists, researchers, communicators, educators, and policymakers to examine how science journalism can strengthen public understanding and trust in science.
This year’s theme, Science Solutions Journalism in a Fragmented World, calls for a renewed approach to science storytelling that not only identifies problems but also highlights credible, evidence-based responses. In an age of information overload and deepening divides, the conference will ask how journalists, academics, and communicators can work together to make science communication both accurate and actionable.
Through panels, workshops, and case discussions, participants will explore how thoughtful, data-driven storytelling can bridge divides between research and policy, experts and citizens, science and society. Sessions will invite reflection on questions such as:
