B V Rajarama Bhat

Professor B V Rajarama Bhat is a renowned mathematician at the Bangalore Center of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), specialising in Quantum Probability and Operator Algebras. He earned his PhD under the mentorship of Professor K R Parthasarathy at ISI, New Delhi. In recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to mathematics, he was honored with the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2007, India’s highest award in the field of mathematical sciences. Beyond his academic and research endeavours, Professor Bhat is also deeply passionate about the study of trees and enjoys planting them during his leisure time, fostering his love for nature alongside his dedication to mathematics and mentoring students.
