Workshop on Literature Review, Bibliographic Services, and other Library Resources

A workshop, moderated by S Banavar, Director of Libraries, was arranged to familiarise PhD students with the different library resources available at Ahmedabad University and their effective utilisation. It included a general introduction to literature review, citations, citation styles, research metrics like impact factor, h-index, and the concept of peer review. An introduction to bibliographic databases and a demo of Scopus was also given. Students were introduced to the reference management system with a demo of Endnote, similarity check software, Turnitin, discovery service, Proquest e-books, EBSCO, IEEE, Jstor, and Project muse.
