Funding Opportunities: ICSSR
The University Grants Office invites you to an online workshop on funding opportunities via the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
Mrs Revathy Vishwanath, Deputy Director (Research) at the Indian Council of Social Science Research, ICSSR will be joining us for a discussion on ICSSR project funding and funding via the IMPRESS scheme. She will then be available to interact with the attendees.
About the ICSSR: Established in 1969 by the Government of India, ICSSR promotes research in social sciences in India. Grant funding is provided for projects, fellowships, international collaborations and publications. ICSSR additionally supports a data service for sharing and reuse of data among social science community in India. Areas of interest to ICSSR include Sociology and Social Anthropology, Political Science / Public Administration, Economics, International Studies, Social Geography and Population Studies, Commerce and Management, Social Psychology, Education, Social Linguistics / Socio-Cultural Studies, Law / International Law, National Security & Strategic Studies.
Mrs. Revathy Vishwanath, Sociologist from Madurai Kamaraj University, is Deputy Director (Research), Indian Council of Social Science Research. She is currently in charge of the Research Projects Division. She has additionally managed the Doctoral, Post-doctoral, Senior and National Fellowship schemes, Research Institutes and Regional Centres Division programmes of ICSSR. Further she has worked as part of the North Eastern, Minority and Gender Cell on special North East related Projects, Seminar/conferences and others.
She was also a part of the Editorial team for the Indian Journal of Social Science and Social Science and Health (Health Bulletin), published by ICSSR. She, along with Dr. S. Saraswathi, former Director, ICSSR undertook a project titled Youth in India, sponsored by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. This book was released on Youth Day by Shri Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India.
Recently, she has taken up the task of publicizing ICSSR at various institutions such as VIT, Vellore, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (Economics Department and Education Department), Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore, Karpagam Institute of Higher Education, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Amity University (Lucknow campus) and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
