The Office of Dean of Graduate School and Research oversees the Graduate School as well as the Research activities of the University. It coordinates the policies of all graduate programmes, provides oversight on quality, and ensures that highest standards are maintained in all graduate programmes across the University. The Dean is assisted by a five-member Graduate Faculty Committee that makes operational decisions and suggests policy recommendations to the University .The activities of the Graduate School include formulating guidelines for conduct of the doctoral programmes, coordination of admissions to the doctoral programme, coordinating the selection of doctoral candidates for University Assistantships, monitoring the progress of doctoral students and organising professional development programmes on research.
This office also coordinates the research activities of the University through the University Research Board (URB) and the University Grants Office. The URB supports and promotes research of the faculty , students and staff. The Board promotes research by recommending proposals for internal funding, examining proposals for submission to external sponsoring agencies and approving the request for international travel for attending conferences . It also suggests changes in research policy and improvements in infrastructure to facilitate the research work of faculty.
The Grants Office facilitates grant fund raising at different levels. The office provides administrative assistance and guidance in proposal preparation, proposal submission, and oversight of all financial and non-financial aspects of the grants.
