Panel Discussion on Energy Transition Towards Net Zero Emissions
Towards the goal of net zero energy emissions, how do governments, institutions, and organisations put together ideas that work around net zero energy systems, coal phase out, renewables, and carbon capture and storage? The Global Centre for Environment and Energy at Ahmedabad University will host a panel discussion on Energy transition towards Net Zero emissions on Wednesday, December 22, 2022, at 2.30 pm.
Minal Pathak, Associate Professor, Global Centre for Environment and Energy, and Senior Scientist, Technical Support Unit, Working Group III, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), is the moderator for the discussion. The panellists are Amit Garg, Professor, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Co-Chair of IPCC Emission Factor Database, and Lead Author for Energy Chapter in AR6 of WGIII of the IPCC; Priyadarshi Shukla, Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Global Centre for Environment and Energy, and Co-Chair of WGIII of IPCC; and Subash Dhar, Senior Researcher, United Nations Environment Programme’s Copenhagen Climate Centre, Senior Fellow of the Global Centre for Environment and Energy, and Lead Author for Transport Chapter in AR6 of WGIII of the IPCC.
Transport transition in the context of net zero and the implications of net zero on policy and sustainable development will also be part of the panel discussions.
