Heritage Management Masters Students selected to participate in an International Youth Forum on Heritage Interpretation
The International Centre for the Interpretation and Presentation of World Heritage Sites (WHIPIC) launched its 2023 Youth Capacity Building Training for World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation, a supplementary event of the 2023 World Heritage Interpretation and Presentation International Forum: Inviting Wider Participants to World Heritage Protection, scheduled for November 14–16, 2023.
An open competition among graduate students in the Asia-Pacific region was held, out of which five teams were selected to join the forum in person in Seoul and to finalise their interpretation plans. We are pleased to share that a team from the Centre for Heritage Management, Ahmedabad University, consisting of its Masters in Heritage Management students Rutuja Sahasrabudhe and Poornima Kotagal, has been selected as one of the five teams to be invited to South Korea to present their project “Interpreting Ajanta Caves: An Immersive Experience for Diverse Communities and Visitors."
As they produce a heritage interpretation plan for this UNESCO World Heritage Site, they discover that this is a process of respecting differences, leading to a peaceful and diverse society. This is also an opportunity for them to understand the sustainable role of world heritage and develop their contributions in this field.
