Dr Rohit C. Khanna, Network Director at the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) and leader of the Public Health program at LVPEI, will share insights from his extensive experience. In this seminar, Dr Khanna will explore the impact of LVPEI's integrated model of eye care delivery, which has proven to be both cost-effective and efficient in providing high-quality care to underserved populations. This model ensures that even the most disadvantaged individuals receive the essential eye care they need.
Dr Rohit C. Khanna is the Network Director at L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) and leads the Public Health program at LVPEI. Actively involved in various working groups of the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Khanna also serves as the IAPB Regional Chair for the South-East Asia region.
Dr Khanna has led multiple studies, including the cohort of Andhra Pradesh Eye Disease Study (APEDS) – a milestone study. He has to his credit over 200 peer-reviewed publications, is on the editorial boards of several journals, and has been awarded several prestigious research grants (including Wellcome) for his work focusing on studying the outcomes of different interventions as well as on geriatric and child eye health.
A recipient of the IAPB Eye Health Leader Award and the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology's Blindness Prevention Award, he has extensive experience leading capacity-building initiatives and working as a consultant for national and global organizations, including IAPB and WHO.
