Master of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering

The School of Engineering and Applied Science at Ahmedabad University is offering a Masters of Technology programme in Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Data Science and Analytics as well Artificial Intelligence from the academic year 2024-2025. Recent times have witnessed rapid advances in Computer Science and Engineering. It would not be an exaggeration to say that we are at the next inflection point in the impact of technology on our daily lives. 

The specialisation in Data Science and Analytics trains students in applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, and apply their learnings to real-life domains such as finance, energy, supply chain, agriculture, and ecommerce. Data Science is concerned with the collection, preparation, analysis and visualisation of large collections of information -- including multimodal and unstructured -- for insights.

Programme Structure

  • The MTech programme will provide the student a fitting combination of breadth and depth in Computer Science, both in terms of the areas covered, as well as the balance between theory and practice. The course work will be equip students with mathematical, hands-on, data science oriented skills and offer an opportunity for a real-life 1-year industry-based thesis.

Sunil Kale

Dean
School of Engineering and Applied Science

Professor Kale has over 30 years of experience in teaching and research in mechanical engineering with a specialisation in thermo-fluids. He holds a BTech degree from IIT Delhi (1977), and MS and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University (1981 and 1984 respectively). He has taught at IIT Delhi since 1989 where he was the Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
