In Vitro Plant Production Techniques Using Micropropagation
Plant tissue culture is a versatile tool used for producing uniform plants at a large scale for farmers, and also as a platform for genomic research. Commercial plant tissue culture techniques such as micropropagation require the tissue material to pass through various developmental stages to generate true-to-type plants. The participants will get acquainted with various operations used in the commercial plant tissue culture industry.
Workshop Highlights
- Commercial plant tissue culture production system for Banana
- Hands-on training in sterilisation and micropropagation techniques
- Primary hardening and clonal fidelity testing of micro-propagated plants
- Plant tissue culture as a platform for CRISPR based genome-editing (only theory)
