Climate Fellows Programme 2025
This is an immersive two-week academic experience jointly organised by Ahmedabad University and the University of Chicago.
Participants will explore the vulnerabilities of urban environments to climate change in distinct developmental stages. Through a combination of lectures, field visits, discussions, and a group project, students will:
- Understand the interrelationship between urbanisation and vulnerability to climate change and its associated impacts,
- Its variation spatially and across different groups
- Explore how climate impact drivers interact with and are shaped by other factors (air quality, energy, infrastructure, etc)
- Compare global perspectives: Study climate risks and responses in contrasting urban contexts.
- Explore the hierarchy and typology of solutions (community, policy, and market-based solutions for building resilience), including the what and the how
- Build solutions and propose strategies for resilience in your city through a group project!
The programme will be led by an interdisciplinary group of faculty experts from Ahmedabad University, The University of Chicago, and partner organisations, and will conclude with group presentations.
