Ahmedabad Climate Party: Hot Cities, Cool Solutions: The Evolving Ahmedabad Playbook

The Climate Institute - Ahmedabad University, in collaboration with The Climate Party, is hosting the 3rd Ahmedabad Climate Party, focused on heat resilience through the lenses of public health, urban design, and preparedness.

As extreme heat intensifies across Indian cities, this edition will examine how adaptation responses are taking shape across scales, from individual and household-level actions to building design and city-wide planning frameworks. The discussion will also explore what this means for designing effective and inclusive responses.

The session will feature interaction with:

  • Abhiyant Tiwari, Lead – Climate Resilience & Health, NRDC
  • Dileep Mavalankar, Former Director, IIPHG
  • Melissa Smith, Faculty of Planning, CEPT University

The conversation will engage with what is working, where responses remain reactive, and how cities and citizens can strengthen preparedness in the face of rising heat risks.

Date: April 11, 2026
Time: 4:00 - 7:00 PM
Venue: Room 100, University Centre, Central Campus, Ahmedabad University
