Asia Online is the digital arm of the Stepwell Centre for Asian Futures. Our aim and commitment is to conduct inter-disciplinary research and practice and offer fresh insights to secure positive futures for the region. Asia Online provides a web-based platform for institutional and individual collaborations and interactions.
Online learning, which offers the benefit of transboundary and transnational outreach, is an important function and goal of Asia Online.
In partnership with various Schools at Ahmedabad University, Amrut Mody School of Management, School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and The Climate Institute, and global partner institutions, we plan to offer MOOCs, Certificate Courses and Fellowships to study India-China relations; Indian Ocean and maritime security; energy and rare minerals security; India’s ‘Look East’ and ‘Act East’ policies; and South Asian trade and connectivity, among other evolving needs in public policy.
Alongside, through Asia Online we aim to offer Semester-long courses on Asian perspectives offered to Ahmedabad University students through collaborations with our partner universities in Asia and across the world.
The instructors for these courses will include faculty from Ahmedabad University, our partner institutions, and eminent practitioners. Each course will attempt to trace an arc from India to the region at large and vice versa.
Additionally, Asia Online will be the repository of knowledge resources of Stepwell Centre for Asian Futures, which will include recordings of webinars, conferences, and podcasts in areas of leading-edge research and practice.
