Ashutosh Kumar Edits Book on Environmental Contaminants and Their Effect on Living Organisms

Associate Professor at the School of Arts and Sciences, Ashutosh Kumar, has edited a book titled Environmental Toxicology and Ecosystem, that addresses the basics of ecotoxicity assessment, the interaction of abiotic or biotic factors with novel chemical entities, and the fate of the natural organic matter upon interaction with new chemical entities. Professor Kumar said, “The book covers varied aspects of environmental contaminants and their effect on living organisms. It provides an introduction to environmental toxicology, keeping in view the paradigm shift on the entry of new chemical entities into the environment. It is geared towards creating an understanding of the ecological risk assessment, regulatory toxicology guidelines, and possible roadmaps for environmental health protection among graduate students and researchers in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Toxicology, and Ecology.” The book was recently published by CRC Press and includes chapters by several Ahmedabad University faculty and PhD students.
