Aditya Chaturvedi has submitted his PhD to the Graduate Division of Religion, Emory University, Atlanta, USA. His research focuses on the genealogy of sevā or devotional service to a material image of Krishna in the Puṣṭimārga Hindu tradition. In tracing the genealogy of sevā, he studies the relationship between Sanskrit, Brajbhasha, and Gujarati didactic texts and everyday practices of this tradition. He also works on Hindu Tantras and South Asian Art, especially Hindu sculptures and paintings. Aditya earned his BA (Honours) in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and his MA in Historical Studies from Nalanda University, Rajgir. Aditya has taught courses in South Asian History and Indian Philosophy and Religion at Emory University, the University of Georgia, and Spelman College.
