Raga and Rhythm: A Hindustani Music Concert

Raga and Rhythm: A Hindustani Music Concert

The evening will feature renditions of ragas in the traditional alap–jod–jhala–gat format, along with lighter compositions. A dedicated tabla solo section will also be presented. At the end of the concert, the artists will engage with the audience, offering insights into the music-making process, their artistic journeys, and the dynamics of collaboration.

Pratik has received training in Sarod from Pandit Rabi Chakraborty and Dr Rajeeb Chakraborty of the Maihar gharana as well as from Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar. He has performed widely in India and abroad and has collaborated with eminent musicians like Pandit Bickram Ghosh, Anoushka Shankar, A. R. Rahman, Shantanu Moitra, and Arijit Singh, among others. His recent collaboration with the phenomenal Indo-German Pianist and composer Jarry Singla has paved the way for numerous performances at several prestigious Jazz music events around Europe.

Yashwant Vaishnav is recognised as one of the brightest talents in the world of tabla. Trained under Pandit Hemant Sachdeva, Pandit Mukund Baley, and currently from Pandit Yogesh Samshi, his association with veteran Khayal musician Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, has helped him hone the art of accompaniment. He has received awards such as the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of the Sangeet Natak Akademi and is an A-grade musician of the All India Radio.
