Nirguni Bhajans Concert- Bindhumalini

Outside the world of Khayal, Pandit Kumar Gandharva is most widely known for his remarkable renditions of nirguni bhajans of Kabir, Gorakhnath and others of the Bhakti sampradaya. In the sound of his renditions, we hear the quest for a divinity that transcends form, speech and thought, a quest made by the solitary seeker, drawing from no tradition, submitting to no conventions or rituals.

Bindhumalini will render a few nirguni bhajans in this concert.

About Bindhumalini Narayanaswamy

Bindhumalini Narayanaswamy is a singer and composer. Bindhu, trained in both South and North Indian classical forms, constantly strives to explore avenues outside of her strict classical roots to other forms and traditions in search of the pure soul-stirring power that music has.  Since her first album with Vedanth Bharadwaj, Suno Bhai, she has expanded her craft, community, and repertoire through collaborations like The Threshold, Khusrau ke rang, Akath Kahani, Saath-Saath and many more, ‘Singing Body’ being her current project. She has journeyed to various hamlets, villages, cities, and countries sharing the songs and poems of the mystic saints of India in different languages.
