NCPA Mumbai and Ahmedabad University present a Hindustani Music Concert by Anupama Bhagwat (sitar) and Sapan Anjaria (tabla).
Anupama Bhagwat is a noted sitar player known for her serious and sensitive explorations of ragas as well as for her dazzling virtuosity. She is one of the leading disciples of the Imdadkhani Gharana doyen, Pandit Bimalendu Mukherjee who was a direct disciple of Ustad Enayat Khan. She has performed internationally to critical acclaim and is regularly featured in major arts festivals in the country and abroad. She holds a Master's degree in Music from the Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyala at Khairagarh.
Sapan Anjaria is a fine tabla artist who has accompanied maestros like Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra, and Ustad Shujaat Khan. He received training in the tabla from the Late Pt. Nandan Mehta at Saptak School of Music and continues to take guidance from Pt. Puran Maharaj, Shri Rajal Shah, and Sushri Hetal Mehta Joshi. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Performing Arts.
