Chiasma 2021
Chiasma is a student-oriented “Science-fest” organized by the School of Arts and Sciences, Ahmedabad University. As the name suggests, it is a crossover between research-oriented scientific workshops in the day and a cultural festival in the evenings. The idea for Chiasma originated with a vision of commencing workshops led by and for students. The event is open to students from various universities across the country and serves as a basis for scientific dialogue. Chiasma was first organized in 2017, and over the years has expanded significantly to promote discourse on many different aspects of biological sciences. Our goal is to promote a research-oriented mindset by Motivating Curiosity in the youth of our nation. Our workshops and cultural activities go hand in hand and provide a novel and a fun perspective to the scientific arena. Due to the ongoing pandemic crisis, Chiasma 2021 will be virtual, but we promise to make your experience only better.
WORKSHOPS
Our modules are precisely designed to develop an analytical mindset in our participants and expose them to the field of research. The modules are comprehensively curated to provide the participants with a complete overview of the given subjects in the most appealing way possible. The workshops are planned and executed by the students to make the experience extra captivating and engaging. This year the workshops, due to the ongoing pandemic, are virtual and are devised accordingly to cater to the learning experience of participants. Attending the workshops will result in participants gaining theoretical knowledge as well as a hands-on experience from the comfort of their own home. For the details of the workshop, Click here.
COMPETITIONS AND CULTURAL
Chiasma is a biological ‘fest’, but it’s not just limited to academic learning. We also aim to provide a learning experience along with a dose of fun and frolics. The world has just gone through a tragic and gloomy year, and participating in these virtual festivities is the perfect way to lift the mood. Our competitions and cultural events serve as a great platform to showcase your fun talents and unwind yourself. The events include poster presentation, a general quiz, pictionary, and a fun game of housie. These competitive events provide a transition for the participants from our scientific day workshops. Scientists, science-enthusiasts, and artists all are welcome to show off their knowledge and playful creative skills. Please click here for the registration of competitions and cultural.
