Are you interested in Buddhist Philosophy? Curious about how Buddhist meditative practices could contribute to the contemporary discipline of Psychology? Join us for a trip to the Drepung Loseling Monastery in Karnataka, an institution dedicated to the intense study of traditional Buddhist arts and sciences. You will have the opportunity to participate in a unique Four-Day Collaborative Workshop between select Faculty from Ahmedabad University and Monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery, as they explore ideas relating to Philosophy, Debate and Meditation from their own respective scholastic traditions. You will also have the exciting opportunity to observe the first day of the Annual Winter Debate Gathering of monks as they engage in intensive philosophical debate sessions at the Monastery.
We are seeking 4-5 motivated students for this all-expenses-paid trip scheduled for December 17-20, 2025. If you are interested, please submit a short essay of about 500-700 words explaining your motivation and what you think you will gain from this trip. The deadline for submission of this essay is the end of the day on November 15, 2025. Selected students will be informed by the end of the month.
